General information related to applying with the county
St. Charles County posts job opportunities. These postings include a description of the job duties and responsibilities, normal starting salary, benefits, the requirements for applicants and usually a
deadline for receipt of the application.

To apply for clerical job opportunities
Applications for clerical positions are accepted on a continuing basis.  Your application will remain active for at least 60 days.  After that time you should notify us if you wish to re-activate your application.  If your address, phone number, or availability for employment changes please let us know.

In order to maximize your chances of employment, we highly recommend that you complete all five clerical tests (typing, editing, data entry, math and ten-key). The entire battery of tests takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.

Your test scores will be entered into our clerical applicant data base file. Testing requirements for each clerical position may vary, depending upon the duties and responsibilities of the position.  As clerical vacancies are received, the County uses the clerical applicant data base file to locate candidates who have passed the specific testing requirements for the actual vacancies.  The more test components you take, and the higher your scores, the better your chances.

If you wish to improve your tests scores you may retake any part of the clerical testing after 7 calendar days have elapsed.

You may obtain updated information about new vacancies or the status of older vacancies by calling our Employment Hotline at 636-949-7320 or by visiting  Job Postings.

To apply for all other job opportunities
All resumes or applications must clearly indicate the position or positions for which you are applying. To apply online click on the “Apply" on the position announcement of the job you are applying for.
