Summary of Benefits
Holidays: 
County employees are granted 12 paid holidays per year.
 
Vacation Leave: 
County employees earn 2 weeks vacation/year.  The rate of accrual increases to 3 weeks after 5 years and 4 weeks after 10 years.
 
Paid Sick Leave:
County employees accrue 1 day of sick leave per month.
 
Other Paid Leave Programs: 
The County also grants paid time off, under certain circumstances, for jury duty, military leave, and funeral leave.
 
Health Insurance: 
St. Charles County  Health Insurance plan offers both an In-network and Out-of-network option along with 4 tiers of coverage.  The County also has two options for health coverage. A Basic Plan with a deductible and and Enhanced Plan with no deductible. The County pays the entire cost of the employee's health coverage. St. Charles County also pays a portion of this cost of dependent/family coverage.
 
Dental Insurance:
The County pays the entire cost of the employee's Dental coverage.  If the employee elects family coverage, the County pays a portion of the additional cost.  An Enhanced plan may also be elected for which there is an additional cost that must be paid by the employee.
 
Life Insurance:
The County pays the entire cost of Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance for the employee in the greater amount of one times the annual salary or $50,000. Employees may choose additional insurance on themselves and dependents at their own expense.
 
Long Term Disability: 
The County pays the entire cost of the long-term disability coverage.
 
Pension Plan: 
The County pays the entire cost of the pension program through the Missouri Local Government Employee's Retirement System.
 
Employee Assistance Program:
The County contracts to provide prepaid professional and confidential counseling services to County employees and their household family members.
 
Tuition Reimbursement: 
The County provides partial reimbursement for tuition assistance for educational opportunities such as police academy, voc-tech programs, and college courses.  Curriculum must be relevant to current job or to prepare for advancement to another position within County government.  Employees must meet other eligibility requirements.
 
Other optional benefits: 
The County also offers other optional benefits through payroll deduction including:  Section 125 Pre-Tax of medical insurance premiums, flexible spending accounts for medical reimbursement and dependent care, credit union, automatic payroll deposit, deferred compensation program, short term disability and other life insurance products.
 
 Eligibility criteria or prorated benefits may apply for percentage time and temporary employees.
